New York here we come!

I know, I know i said that back in October. But stuff happens and Jimmy's job comes first. So we cancelled the October trip. But he doesn't have a huge job pending so we've decided to try again. We are headed to NYC March 5-8. I've been before but Jimmy hasn't. We're excited.  We are staying right smack dab in Time Square at the Millennium Hotel.  We're trying to figure out what to do, where to go and what to see. So if you have suggestions please feel free to comment :)

  1. Hi Stayce... i will try this again LOL.
I recommend the Statue of Liberty. you must get your tix ahead of time. If you cannot, it is worth it just for the subway ride down and then the free ferry ride to the Statue. great photo opportunities.
Museums: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Museum of Natural History are great. I recommend going early to beat the crowds (after 12pm everything gets crowded and longer lines).
5th Avenue is awesome to stroll and if you want high up views, Empire State Building (34th Street) and Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center). they are pricey though at about $20 per person and if you go at sunset its about $30 or more.
5th Avenue is generally pretty good to stroll and window shop and if you are into Church Architecture, St. Patrick's is nice but they are renovating it now (i work on 6th Avenue and 48th Street, pretty close by)
In Times Square, lots of touristy places to see. Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is about $20 per person (more or less) to get in if you want to check that out.
For shopping, you will want to check out West 34th Street (Macys). and Canal Street (for bargains and knock-offs). Definitely bring warmer things to wear we are known to get some snow in March so hats, gloves, scarves, boots may come in handy. PM me at Willows if you want more info. The subway costs $2.50 per ride unless you get the all day pass for about $8.00 and there are double decker drop off sightseeing buses where you can ride, get off and get picked up. Have a great time.
